The office of the Attorney General of the Federation on Thursday arraigned a Supreme Court Judge, Justice Sylvester Nwali Ngwuta before the Code of Conduct Tribunal in Abuja, on eight counts of alleged false asset declaration.
The Supreme Court Judge pleaded not guilty to all the charges slammed on him by the Attorney General of the Federation.
The prosecution counsel led by the Director of Public Prosecution of the Federation U. E. Muhammad urged the Tribunal to step down proceeding pending when his witness is available.
However, the defence counsel led by Chief Kanu G. Agabi (SAN), applied for the bail of his client which the Justice Danladi Yakubu Umar led Tribunal gladly granted on self-recognition of the defence.
The Tribunal Chairman, subsequently adjourned to 6th of July, 2017, for commencement of trial at the instance of both defence and prosecution counsel.
