President Mohammadu Buhari, the ailing President of Nigeria on Wednesday suspended the weekly meeting of Federal Executive Council(FEC).
Sources informed huhuonline.com that the cancellation became necessary as result of the President’s failing health and inability to preside over the meeting two weeks in row.
Huhuonline.com gathered that the cancellation is a precautionary move to avoid a repeat of negative media report about President’s health and pointed questions about the President fitness to govern.
Venue of the meeting, the Council Chambers of the Aso Rock Presidential Villa was deserted as at the time the meeting was supposed to be held.
However, the Presidency is yet to officially explain the reasons the meeting did not hold.
Buhari’s absence at last week’s meeting had sparked fresh speculations about his health status. But the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, doused the tension, informing Nigerians that the president was in good condition.
The minister had also stated that the fact that the president was not in the office did not mean he was not working.
