Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, in Osun State, Adebimpe Ogunlumade, has been abducted by yet to be identified gunmen.
She was kidnapped with her driver, Oladapo Arogundade Ajani and a Director from the ministry, Tajudeen Badejoko while they were returning to Osogbo, the Osun State capital, from Abuja on Friday.
The State’s Head of Service, Sunday Olayinka Owoeye, confirmed the incident.
According to him, they were kidnapped at gunpoint at Obajana along Lokoja-Okene Road in Kogi State.
It was learnt that the Auditor-General of the State who was with the team of officials escaped from the scene.
Owoeye said the officials were returning from Abuja where they attended the briefing on the State and Local Government Reforms Project which is a World Bank and European Union Programme when the incident occurred.
The Osun State Police Command Public Relations officer, Folasade Odoro, also confirmed the incident adding that efforts were on to rescue them.
