Governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have hailed the Supreme Court for upholding the elections of all its governors, saying the court has saved democracy in the country.
A PDP Governors’ Forum statement issued after the court upheld the elections of Governors Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom and Okey Ikpeazu of Abia State, noted that the apex court’s verdicts reinforced the belief that the judiciary remains the hope of the common man.
“What the apex court has done was to save the country from being balkanised by the APC in its avowal to undermine the integrity of the courts and jettison the sacredness of the ballot box,” the statement signed by Osaro Onaiwu, the forum coordinator read.
The coordinator said PDP would continue to work to strengthen the country’s legal process as well as democratic norms.
He congratulated the governors for their victories and expressed confidence that they would continue to work hard to improve the lives of their people, which he said the party had not failed to do over the years.

Onaiwu called on states like Edo and Ondo whose elections would hold later in the year to identify with the PDP so as democracy dividends.
