President Mohammadu Buhari on Monday sacked Ibrahim Larmode as Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) He was immediately replaced with Ibrahim Magu, a senior staff of the Governance Unit of the Commission.
A statement signed by Femi Adesina, said,”President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Mr. Ibrahim Mustafa Magu as the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).”
“Mr. Magu, who is an Assistant Commissioner of Police is to take over from Mr. Ibrahim Lamorde who is proceeding on terminal leave ahead of the formal expiration of his tenure in February next year.”
Mr Lamorde took over as the chairman of the anti-graft agency on 23 November, 2011 after Chairman Farida Waziri was removed by the former President, Goodluck Jonathan.
