The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has summoned for questioning, the Chairman and Founder of Energy Resources Group, Jide Omokore.
Though it was earlier reported by Reuters that Omokore was arrested, it has been confirmed that the business magnate, a close ally of embattled former oil minister, Deizani Alison-Madueke was only questioned by the anti-graft agency and left to go home.
He is currently in his Abuja residence, huhuonline.com can report.
However, over the weekend, Omokore’s residence situated at no 9 Turnbull Street home in Ikoyi as well as his office on Glover Street, also in Ikoyi were searched by EFCC officials
The billionaire is being investigated for involvement in multi-billion dollar oil deals, including kerosene scam that rocked the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), reliable sources in EFCC has revealed.
