The State Security Service (SSS) has dismissed the former Chief Security Officer (CSO) to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Gordon Obuah, sources close to the organisation has revealed.

Obuah is included in the mass retrenchment at the State Security Service (SSS), the source said.

The source also revealed that Obuah was recommended for dismissal by an investigation panel led by a former director of training.

Apart from Obuah, Liman Widi, a personal assistant to the former Director General of the service, Ita Ekpenyong, was also recommended for dismissal for corrupt practices and playing partisan roles — acts whichare incompatible with the SSS codes.

Marilyn Ogar, former spokesperson of the service, former President Muhammadu Buhari’s CSO, Abdulrahman Mani and one Adamu, the former CSO to former DG, Ita Ekpenyong, were also dismissed.

Others laid off include Yomi Zamba, Little John Okojie, Ahmed Abdullahi, Ibrahim Katsina, Larry Obiagwu, Abdulganiyu Dauda and Dahiru Dodo, Suleiman Dabo.

The major thing the investigative panel had against Obuah and Widi was their link to oil bunkering deals, the source said.

For Ogar, the grouse against her was bribery allegations and blatant partisanship.

“Following the on-going re-organisation in the Service, be informed that that your services are no longer required in the Department of State Security Service (DSS). You are therefore, retired from Service under Section 8 Rule 020806(II) of the Public Service Rules, 2006 wef 31st August, 2015,” the notice for retirement issued to her, read.
