President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday urged the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) to do more to publicise its inventions for the benefit of Nigerians.
Speaking in Abuja after NASENI presented its recent works to the President and his delegation, Buhari observed that unless the agency’s inventions are adopted and further developed by manufacturers, Nigerians will not enjoy the fruits of its good work.
The President who was impressed by the achievements and inventions presented to him at the Presidential Villa, also directed NASENI to explore ways of working with the Defence Industries Corporation, Kaduna to manufacture the light weapons it has designed.
“Looking at your work, the laboratory equipment, the weapons designs and so on, these are things that can save us resources if you can cooperate with existing specialist agencies and work together,” President Buhari told the Executive Vice Chairman of NASENI, Professor M. S. Haruna.
Apart from the light weapon designs and laboratory equipment, other NASENI inventions presented to President Buhari included new energy-saving LED lamp products.
