Rescue workers at the site of the crashed helicopter in Lagos on Wednesday recovered the occupants of the ill-fated chopper with four dead.

Six others sustained serious injuries and are now receiving treatment at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, located in Ikeja, Lagos after their transfer from the Gbagada General Hospital.

The Bristol Helicopter with about 13 passengers crashed into the lagoon around the Alonge area of Oworonshoki in Lagos State while on its way from Ikeja.

The two other passengers had not been found by the team of rescuers made up of police officers, officials of the National Emergency Management Agency and other Nigerians, at the time of this report.

Spokesman of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Yakubu Dati, had earlier confirmed the report, but declined to give details of the incident.

According to him, “it is true, but we are still trying to piece information together.”

He confirmed that rescue agencies were at the scene of the incident.
