President Muhammadu Buhari late Monday appointed Brigadier-General P.T. Boroh (rtd.) as the new Coordinator of the Amnesty Programme for former Niger-Delta militants.
Boroh’s appointment is with immediate effect.
He would continue from where Kingsley Kuku, former Special Adviser to President Jonathan on Niger Delta, stopped as Coordinator of the programme.
The former militants had recently begun agitation leading to a meeting which was supposed to hold days ago.
The meeting, organised by Chief Government Ekpemukpolo, also called Tompolo, was however botched.
Boroh is expected to drive the government’s programme with his new office.
