The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC) has elevated to the the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) 21 lawyers.
Of the 21, there was only one female while the other 20 are males. The academics also produced three, while the other 18, including the female, are practising lawyers.
The only female is the former Attorney General of Ogun State, Abimbola Ibironke Akeredolu.
Those from the academics are Prof Maxwell Mickael Gidado, Dr. Tahir Mamman and Prof. Paul Oboarenegbe Idornigie.
The practising lawyers are: the National Legal Adviser of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Muiz Adeyemi Banire, Director, Legal Services, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Ibrahim Kanje Bawa, son of former Anambra State Deputy Governor, Virgy Etiaba, and son of former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Wole Olanipekun (SAN), Dr. Oladapo Olumide Olanipekun.
Also on the list are Edward Kunav Ashiekaa, Benson Sopulu, Joseph Sunday Bamigboye, Patrick Ocheja Okola, Dr. Akinpelu Theophilus Onigbinde, Samuel Otseilu Zibiri, Adeniyi Ayodele Adegbonmire and Emmanuel Chinwenwo Aguma, Olumuyiwa Akinboro, Gordi Uche, Uchechukwu Valentine Obi and Kehinde Kolawole Eleja.
