Scores of Nigerians who carried out their daily business activities at a crowded market in Wagir, Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State on Tuesday, were attacked and killed by a young female suicide bomber with more than 30 others sustaining various degrees of injury.
Many of the injured are currently receiving treatment at the Sani Abacha Hospital, Damaturu, the state capital.
According to witnesses at the scene, the attacker is believed to be about 12 years old.
“The girl that detonated the bomb was a very small girl of about 12 years. We counted 10 dead and over 30 injured,” one of the witnesses, Malam Usaini Jibril, who assisted the injured victims to the hospital, told journalists.
