Maiduguri, the Borno State capital on Tuesday witnessed another attack by a suicide bomber, who was shouting ‘Sai Buhari’ and dancing at an abattoir.
The incident led to the death of five people while many others sustained injury.
Commissioner of Police in the State, Aderemi Opadokun, confirmed the incident, saying the suicide bomber attacked at about 11.30 a.m.
He also said men of the Nigerian Police Force in the state were immediately mobilised to the scene.
The police moved the injured victims to the hospital and evacuated the dead.
“A suicide bomber, who was shouting ‘Sai Buhari’ and dancing in the abattoir, detonated Improvised Explosive Device strapped on his body when people had gathered around him,” the police commissioner said.
“Five people, including himself, died, while eight others sustained injuries.”
