President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday urged the Senate for an approval to appoint 15 advisers to his cabinet which he is still constituting.
Though the list of the nominees was not released, this would be his first letter to the Senate, which had earlier at the sitting for the day, congratulated Buhari and the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, as they take over from former President Goodluck Jonathan.
The letter was read by the outgoing Senate President, David Mark.
If approved by the Senate, it would be the second round of Buhari’s appointments.
Days ago, Buhari appointed Femi Adesina and Shehu Garba as his spokesmen and Malam Lawal Kazaure as Chief of Protocol.
It is believed Buhari would, within the next two weeks, release a list of nominees for ministerial slots.
The Senate also congratulated the newly sworn-in governors of the various states where the 2015 election held.
Mark urged the governors to operate with special consideration to the rule of law.
