The newly elected Lawmakers in Ekiti State have admonished the All Progressives Congress (APC) to stop fanning embers of chaos in the State, saying Ekiti people won’t let the outgoing APC lawmakers destroy the State before they leave office.

The lawmakers-elect, under the aegis of Conference of Ekiti State Lawmakers-elect, said what the outgoing lawmakers should concern themselves  with now should be stock-taking and preparation of the handing over notes, not wagging relentless war against the State.

In a release issued on Sunday by the lawmakers-elect, signed by Chief Gboyega Aribisogan, Hon Segun Adewumi and Adeniran Alagbada, they noted that “Ekiti people by their votes on 11th April passed a vote of no confidence on the APC lawmakers.”

The lawmakers said: “Having been rejected by the people, the APC lawmakers should be civil enough to allow peace to reign in the State.

“All these talks of impeachment of the governor today, impeachment of his deputy tomorrow is not the type of stories that we should be hearing from the APC lawmakers.

“Rather, they should be asking themselves how they lost the confidence of the people so much that none of them was reelected.

“It is therefore our plea to the outgoing APC lawmakers that they should use the remaining 42 days to seek forgiveness from Ekiti people that their government burdened with huge debt.

“They should bear it in their minds that Ekiti people are ready for them this time around. Any attempt to test the will of the people,  using support from their Lagos based godfathers will be resisted by all means possible.”
