With governorship election results trickling in from various parts of Lagos State, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Akinwunmi Ambode seems to be leading the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Jimi Agbaje, with a wide margin.
Ambode defeated Agbaje in the latter’s polling unit 009, Ward 3, Apapa, polling 124 votes against Agbaje’s 88 votes.
Ambode, who won his own polling unit in Epe by 200 to beat Agbaje who scored 31, also beat Agbaje’s running mate, Safuratu Abdulkareem, at her polling unit 9 in Badagry leading with 140 votes against the PDP’s 73 votes.
Bode George, a chieftain of the PDP and acclaimed godfather to Agbaje, lost his polling unit to APC which polled 139 votes against PDP’s 87.
Ambode won at polling unit 047, Ward C, where the former state governor, Bola Tinubu voted, scoring 230 votes to defeat Agbaje who scored 62. The PDP however beat the APC at polling unit 041, Alausa, Ikeja where it polled 97 votes against APC’s 65 votes.
Also, the PDP won at polling unit 045, Alausa, scoring 86 votes against the APC’s 69. At polling unit 002 in Alausa, APC won by polling 107 while PDP scored 88 votes. At unit 012 in the same Alausa, the PDP won by 68 votes against the APC which scored 67 votes.
At unit 005, Shoprite, Alausa, APC Ambode defeated Agbaje by polling 82 votes against 21 polled by PDP. At polling unit 008, Alausa, Ward C, Ambode polled 119 votes to defeat Agbaje who scored 54 voted.
At unit 38, Alausa, APC polled 100 votes as against 36 polled by PDP. At polling unit 36, Alausa, APC polled 90 votes while PDP scored 30. At polling unit 037 in Alausa, APC scored 105 while PDP got 59.
At the polling unit in Bourdillon, Victoria Island where Tinubu’s wife, Senator Oluremi, voted, APC defeated the PDP by 99 to 21votes. At unit 001, Ward F, Ibeju Lekki, APC led the PDP by 531 votes 317 votes.
At unit 008, Shangisha, Magodo, the APC won by 160 votes to 93 votes of the PDP. At unit 017, Opebi, APC scored 51 while PDP polled 50
The same was the result of Polling Unit 042, Olatunji Ige, Ketu, where the APC won by 110 votes PDP’s 51. Also, at unit 043, Olatunji Ige, Ketu, APC polled 92 votes against PDP’s 59 votes while at polling unit 051, Ogba, APC polled 116 to defeat the PDP with a score of 78.
At unit 009 Amuwo Odofin, APC polled 49 while PDP scored 5.
At polling unit 024, Ibeju Lekki, APC polled 190 votes to lead PDP, which polled 112 votes.In ward 3 in Epe, Ambode’s hometown, the APC polled 133 votes to beat PDP’s score of 57 votes just like in polling unit 41, Ward D, Alimosho, where the APC polled 243 to beat the PDP which polled 105 votes.
At Badore Community, Lekki, unit 008 was won by the APC which scored 474 votes against the PDP’s score of 257.
At unit 053 Alimosho, APC scored 244 while PDP polled 176. At unit 035, APC won by 102 votes with PDP’s 40 votes. In Oworo, unit 023, APC won by 121 votes and PDP, 106. At unit 075 Agbado Oke-Odo, APC won by polling 137 votes as against 48 by PDP. At Yaya Abatan, APC polled 273 votes while PDP scored 48 votes.
At the polling unit where Femi Gbajabiamila voted in Surulere, the APC won the PDP by 93 to 89. At Ashogbon in Surulere, unit 049, APC scored 55 while PDP polled 38. APC also won in the unit 002, Ward G3 where Governor Babatunde Fashola voted as the party scored 270 votes against the PDP which scored 132 votes.
At ward 011, APC scored 72 while PDP polled 55. At unit 012, Agege, APC polled 63 while PDP scored 59 votes. At unit 026, Eti Osa, APC scored 282 while PDP polled 80. At Agege, Ward 011, PU 009, APC scored 103, PDP 77. At unit 010, Agege, APC scored 128 while PDP got a mere 82.
