Mr. Chris Ifeanyichukwu Eza, former aide-de-camp to Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State has been murdered by a junior officer attached to the Mopol 10 in Bauchi State.
Eza, an indigene of Erowha in Isoko South Council Area, was already a Squadron Commander in Mopol 10, Bauchi at the time of his death.
Unfortunately, the killer has not been mentioned, but was said to have turned himself in for at one of the police stations in the state.
It was learnt that Eza had a little misunderstanding with the junior officer, then the junior officer suddenly went into an uncontrollable rage and shot Eza five times.
The victim died on the spot, according to sources who confided in Huhuonline.com, Eza’s death has sent shock waves around the Delta State Government House among workers and aides.
More shocking is the fact that Eza’s father, who was a Divisional Police Officer, was also killed in similar circumstances.
The death of the former security aide to Governor Uduaghan was confirmed by the Police Public Relation Officer, DSP Haruna Mohammed, on Friday.
According to him, the victim was rushed to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital Bauchi where he was certified dead by a medical doctor and the corpse deposited at the mortuary for post-mortem examination.
It was also revealed that the state Commissioner of Police, Mohammed K. Mohammed, has visited the scene of the incident with his team and that the suspect, a police corporal, was arrested and detained.
The Commissioner has ordered full scale investigation into the circumstances that led to the incident, the source said.
