The Inspector-General of Police, Suleiman Abba, on Tuesday redeployed 33 Commissioners of Police to different formations ahead of the 2015 general elections.
A statement by the Police Force Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Ojukwu stated that the action was taken by Abba in line with the determination and drive to enhance the administrative and operational effectiveness of the Nigeria Police Force ahead of the elections.
The commissioners were directed to resume in their new postings with immediate effect.
The affected commissioners include Danladi Y Mshelbwala posted from Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit (EOD) to Kebbi State; Ibrahim K. Idris formerly in charge of Police Mobile Force(PMF), now posted to Kano State; Shuaibu L. Gambo, formerly in charge of Sokoto State, but now posted to Counter Terrorism Unit, FHQ; Musa Katsina Mohammed formerly at NIPSS, now posted to Oyo State; Usman Tilli Abubakar, formerly at NIPSS Jos but posted to Jigawa State.
Others are: Olufemi David Ogunbayode formerly at NIPSS Jos but now to Zamfara State; Waheed Olayikan Salau of the Airport Command, now posted to NIPSS Kuru Jos, Dorothy A. Gimba posted from NIPSS Jos to Airport Command; Foluso A. Adebanjo posted from Edo State to NIPSS Kuru, Jos; Agboola posted from Oshodi-Glover to ICT FHQ, Abuja to NIPSS Kuru, Jos.

“The postings are in line with efforts to reposition the Force, filling vacancies created and in view of officers proceeding on course at the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) Kuru, Jos as well as posting of returning Senior Officers from NIPSS,” Ojukwu added in the statement.
