The forensic report submitted to the federal government by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) on Monday has revealed huge financial inconsistencies on the parts of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and its subsidiary, the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC).

The corporations have thus been directed to refund $1.48bn to the federation account, a brief on the report stated.

The brief was made available to huhuonline.com by Mr. Samuel Ukura, the Auditor General of the Federation.

In 2014, the Federal Government had commissioned PWC to conduct an extensive forensic audit of the corporation following allegations made by former Governor of the Central Bank, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, that the corporation had diverted over $20 billion meant for the federal government.
