… For without the Law sin is dead…(Romans 7:8)

Just imagine that there were no traffic laws on how fast you could drive on a particular road, that is there is no speed limit, no do not turn right at certain intersections, no law that say stop at the red light.

The state trooper can not stop you and give you a citiation for either speeding, running a red light or turning right at certian intersection. right?

Remember the saga of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden; We are informed of two trees, “the tree of knowledge of good and evil” and “the tree of life”. God gave man a law or standard, saying…”And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.(Genesis 2:16-17)

Eve was not tempted with any other thing, except the by the law: “But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it”. Which begs the question, why was she not tempted with things like “muder your husband” or “leave your husband

She was not tempted with the later  for the simple reason  that there was no law to that effect.

You see, what sin does is take advantage of those commands or laws, deceive and produce death.(Romans 7:11)

No law, means there is nothing for sin to take advantage of. No law equals no sin. The law is the strength or power of sin, It is the engine that  gives strength to sin.(1Corinthians 15:56)

Similarly, the children of Isreal came out of Egypt loaded with gold and silver, but they never attempted to use the gold to make a calf and worship any other God, until the law said, “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”

No law means no standard to be violated. Thus no law equals no sin.

You see, law bring sin, but grace saves you from, sin, death and teaches  you to say no to ungodliness. Grace causes Godly character to manifest in your life.
