Ephesians 3:17-19 says… “I pray that Christ will ·live [make his home] in your hearts by faith and that your life will be ·strong in love and be built on love [L rooted and grounded in love]. 18 And I pray that you and all ·God’s holy people [T the saints] will have the power to ·understand [comprehend; grasp] the greatness of Christ’s love—how wide and how long and how high and how deep that love is.19 Christ’s love is ·greater than anyone can ever know [beyond comprehension/knowledge], but I pray that you will be able to know that love. ·Then [L …so that] you can be filled with the fullness of God.”
The last sentence in this construction says I pray that you will be able to know that love. ·Then [L …so that] you can be filled with the fullness of God
“Plērōma” is the Greek word translated- fullness, it denotes full measure or entire content.
Thus, fullness of God means full measure of or entire content of God. Put differently, it means to be filled up with God himself.
But, you might say how can this be? How can man be filled up with God? If the Bible say you be filled up with God himself, then you can be filled up with God himself.
Remember scriptures say…”God is love,” and by knowing his love you become filled with God himself.
Ginosko is the Greek word translated know in the sentence that we are currently examining. It means “to have a working understanding of something,” to be skilled or have mastery of or to have “intimate and experiential knowledge.” Ginosko speaks of knowledge grounded in personal experience. It means to know and to experience, that is to understand.
In the Jewish religious sense, it was used to describe sexual relations between a man and a woman, as in Adam knew Eve.
You see, you gain knowledge by simply gathering information, but knowledge without understanding is incomplete.
There are a lot of people with knowledge, but without understanding, Knowledge and understanding are partners.
Wisdom is simply defined as the rightful application of knowledge, meaning when you add understanding to knowledge, the result is wisdom.
You see, having intimate experiential knowledge of God’s love will make you become filled with all of God.
When you become filled with the entire content of God -you will find yourself transformed, and you will see the mighty power of God displayed for you and through you.
God`s love changed David from an inconsequential shepherd boy to a lion killer, bear killer, giant killer and finally, a king over Israel. His love for you will make you what he has predestined you to be.
You see, when you are filled with God himself – His anointing will begin to flow powerfully in your life.
Life challenges that hitherto seemed insurmountable will begin to crumble before.
You will have Midas touch and everything you touch will turn to Gold.
Failure will not know your address because you are full of God of himself – you are full love, and love never fails…(1Cor 13:8)
You will experience God’s strength in your life -God’s favor in your work and relationships – God’s protection for you and your family – God’s increase in your finances, and God’s health and healing for your body.
But how do you develop the love of God? You do this by simply praying in the spirit for a significant amount of time.
Feeding , meditating and Practicing the word of God regarding God`s love for you
For example if you work, only to be broke after you receive your pay check, and are constantly leaving in fear of not being able to meet your obligations.
Romans 8:32 says….He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
You see, if God did not withhold Jesus, He will not withhold healing, prosperity, blessed marriage, success, from you. Because these are the finished works of Jesus
Psalm 34:10…. The young lions lack and suffer hunger; but those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.
The word ‘seek’ in Hebrew is ‘dawrash’. It means ‘to pursue, follow, worship, ask, enquire or require’. Do you fall into this category? Do you purse, follow, worship, ask or enquire require of the Lord?
The fact that you are reading this morning, signifies that you are the one this verse talking about. – And because you fall into this category, you shall not lack any good thing. But, what are the good things in your life?
They include good health, good family, good relationships, good jobs, good finance, open doors.
Do you know why God doesn’t want you to covert other peoples things? He is a loving father, who conceived you in love and wants to meet your every need…. He asked If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? (Mathew 7:11)
In other words …. If…you’re at least decent to your own children…. don’t you think the God who conceived you in love will be even better?
Beloved, as you feed on Jesus’s love for you, you will be filled with the fullness of God. The love of God will leave you faring well and not stock on well fare!!!
