The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Oyegun, as well as governors on the platform of the says the party have declared that the party is the only alternative left for the transformation of Nigeria.

They therefore urged Nigerians to vote for the party to gain power in 2015.

Oyegun, while speaking on Monday at the inauguration of the north-west executive committee of the party and a special rally of the party, said: “the party wants to ensure the complete transformation of the nation when elected into power at all levels during the forthcoming polls.

“This transformation will include the power sector, security, education, eradication of unemployment and poverty, among others.”

Oyegun, a former governor of Edo state, commended Governor Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto for transforming the state in the past seven years that he had been in the saddle.

The rally was attended by thousands of supporters of the party. Governor Aliyu Wamakko and governors of Kano, Imo, Edo and Zamfara were all at the event, which also had former Governor Timipre Sylva in attendance.

According to them, the APC should be trusted to bring the country’s desired change in 2015 saying Nigerians have become desperate for that change that would once again put the nation on a sound footing.

The Deputy National Chairman of the party, Sen. Lawal Shuaibu, said that the rally was the beginning of the crusade to bring the change Nigerians needed while the State Chairman of the party, Alhaji Bala Hassan, expressed hope that the APC would emerge victorious in 2015 at all levels in the country.

He said: “the rally is a meeting of progressives who want to bring the desired change in Nigeria.”
