As previously stated, righteousness is the nature of God, which is imparted to your human spirit at the new birth, it is the opposite of condemnation or damnation.
You see, when Adam committed high treason in Garden of Eden, he formed a union with the adversary, took the nature of the devil and brought condemnation upon human race,…For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many(Romans 5:17).
Under condemnation man lost his fellowship with God, man could not approach God.
Remember when man heard the voice of God in the Garden, he hid, out of fear… “And he said, I heard your voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.”(Gen3:10)
From the fall of Adam till Jesus crucifixion, God covered the sins of men of men with the blood of Bulls and Goat… “For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one’s life”(Lev 17:11). However, this process had its limitations, and God remedied this by sending Jesus as payment for sin.
2 Cor5:21 say “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
Jesus died as your substitute, he took your sin and transferred to you his righteousness, and this righteousness which comes to you as a free gift restores fellowship with God. This fellowship gives you confidence to approach God with assurance, that you can ask the father and he will give you the desires of your heart.
You see, Righteousness is not based on what you do, but how you were made. Righteousness is credited to your account the moment you believe in Jesus. It is a free gift which comes to you as result of your faith in Christ Jesus. It is not based on how good and nice you have been, but simply on faith in Jesus. It has nothing to do with what you did or did not do, it is the result of what Jesus has done.
You see, Righteousness ushers you through the door of the supernatural because it makes God pay attention to all your prayers and makes his response to your continued heart felt prayers powerful and effective. Hallelujah !!!
2 Corinthian 5:19 say “For God was in Christ, restoring the world to himself, no longer counting men’s sins against them but blotting them out. This is the wonderful message he has given us to tell others.”
According to the gospel of righteousness, men sins have been imputed or counted to Jesus, thus, a believer is not someone who does not do wrong. He is one whose wrongs have been charged to the account of Jesus. Thus, he walks free, not because he has always done the right things or never does wrong, but because every time he has done wrong, that wrong has been charged to the account of Jesus.
That is why scriptures declares, “There is therefore now, no condemnation for them which are in Christ Jesus”..(Roman 8:1), which infers you can live without a sense of condemnation. Not because you don’t feel like you have done some things wrong, but because even though you have knowledge of those things, you wont be punished or judged for them. Isn`t this wonderful?
The Greek word rendered condemnation is “katakrima,,” It also means Judgment or the exact sentence of condemnation, handed down after due process.
Thus, a literal rendering of our text read, “ There is therefore now no judgment for them which are in Christ Jesus….”
You see, judgment is an integral part of God`s plan and scriptures talks about two kinds of Judgment for sinners. To be continued !!!
