For having the guts to describe President Goodluck Jonathan as not been active for the past three years, the presidency on Thursday knocked governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State.

Fashola, who was the guest lecturer at the 50th birthday celebration of former Bayelsa State Governor, Timipre Sylva, had listed many problems facing the country at the moment and accused the president of being lukewarm to solving these problems.

“This government had been inactive for three years and in the fourth year intends to give the electorate kerosene, price and money for the purpose of seeking their votes,” Fashola said.

But in the reaction of the presidency, Dr. Doyin Okupe, presidential aide on Public Affairs, said he was sure Fashola was too occupied in Lagos state to realise the achievements of the present administration.

“It has become necessary for us to respond to some blatant and obvious lies, deliberate and skillful misinformation contained in the lecture given by Governor Raji Fashola at the 50th Birthday celebration of former Governor Timipre,” Okupe said.

Okupe admitted that the country is bedevilled by challenges, but said the government was doing all it could to address the problems.
