Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) headed by Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau State has applauded Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, the chief of defence staff, for dispelling the rumour that the Military is planning to take over government, saying Nigeria’s democracy has come to stay.
Earl Osaro Onaiwu, NGF’s sole administrator made the commendation on behalf of the forum in a statement on Saturday. He lauded the Military’s firm stand in protecting the country rather than messing it up.
Onaiwu further stated that the NGF frowned at “professional political mischief makers” who when they lose elections and government appointments make it a habit of undermining the nation’s democracy by spreading rumours of military insurrection.
“The Forum emphasised that there is no alternative to democracy as has become evident in modern governance worldwide as Nigerians now have a say in how their commonwealth is deployed for the collective benefit of all Nigerians,” Onaiwu said.
