… Threatens Court Action
Innocent “2Face” Idibia has threatened to sue upcoming artiste Ewa for copyright infringement.
2face’s record label, the 960 Music issued the warning on Wednesday saying Ewa has been claiming to have featured 2face in her latest single “Crazy Love” whereas 2face knows nothing about the song.
In what was described by 2Face’s team as an illegal manipulation, the record label disassociated itself from the track, emphasising that Ewa’s action is an infringement on 2Face’s right under the Copyright Act Cap C28, LFN 2004.
“It has been brought to our attention that there is a song “Crazy Love”, being circulated on the Internet which was composed and sang by one Ewa and purportedly featuring 2Face,” a statement issued by 960 music read.
“The song is an illegal manipulation and super-imposition on 2Face’s unreleased song titled Could This Be Love. This odious and fraudulent act is not only condemnable but also an assault on the integrity of the entertainment industry which thrives on creativity and hard work.’
“We wish to use this medium to categorically state that 2Face did not feature in any song composed and sang by any Ewa.”
