The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, on Wednesday visited the scene of Tuesday twin bomb blasts in Jos, Plateau State, urging Nigerians to be more vigilant.
He also promised to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to account.
The twin blast had resulted in the death of about 200 people, but official figures put the casualties at 75 saying 70 others sustained various degrees of injury.
Abubakar, accompanied by heads of other protection agencies, called for calm, and promised to stop at nothing in unmasking and bringing to book, those behind the dastardly act.
The IGP commiserated with families and friends of the affected victims, calling for increased vigilance amongst the populace in the fight against terrorism.
“He appealed for useful information that could help in unmasking the authors and sponsors of the crime,” Abubakar said.
