Governor of Bayelsa State, Henry Seriake Dickson, has relieved the state’s commissioner of Ministry of Local Government and Community Development, James Dugo and commissioner of Capital City Development Barrister Zuwa Konuga of their duties.
The announcement was made in a statement issued by Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of the state, Daniel Iworiso-Markson on Saturday.
According to the statement, the two commissioners were relieved of their duties because their ministries have either been scrapped “in furtherance of ongoing efforts at re-organising and repositioning ministries, departments and agencies for optimal performance and delivery of the restoration agenda” of the state’s government.
“His Excellency, Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson, governor of Bayelsa State, announced the scrapping of the Ministry of Capital City Development and the splitting of the Ministry of Local Government and Community Development, and the Ministry of Energy”, the statement read.
“In the light of the foregoing, the commissioners of the former Ministry of Local Government and Community Development, Mr. James Dugo and Barrister Zuwa Konuga of the Capital City Development have been relieved of their positions as members of the state executive council”.
Governor Dickson thanked Dugo and Konuga for their services to the government and people of the state, assuring them that they could still be called upon to serve the state in future.
