Spread the love

Aside from the Holy Spirit being God seal on us, He`s  the earnest of our inheritance…ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance.

The word “earnest” is derived from the Greek word “Arrhabon” (pronounced ar-hrab-ohn’), which is translated as “deposit”, “guarantee” and “downpayment”.It connotes money, which in purchases is given as a pledge or downpayment that the full amount will subsequently be paid.

Aarrabon is a part payment which is an assurance and a guarantee that full payment will follow. It is an instalment paid down in advance, which is the proof and the pledge that the whole sum will be paid.

Thus, by giving us the Holy Spirit, God is assuring and guaranteeing us that the rest of our inheritance will definitely be ours. The Holy Spirit is the one who brings that inheritance to us, by unveiling the word of God to our spirit.

Remember, Luke informed us in the Acts of the Apostles that the word of his grace is able to us give our inheritance: And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified (Acts 20:32).

Also, Jesus, in one his last discourses with the disciples, said to them, I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them or to take them upon you or to grasp them or they are too much for you now (John16:12-15).

Note that the word “now”, in this construction, signifies prior to the advent or coming of the Holy Spirit.

He continues in Verse 13, saying, But when He, the Spirit of Truth (the Truth-giving Spirit) comes, He will guide you into all the Truth (the whole, full Truth).

The truth spoken of here is the word…Jesus, in John 17:17 said, Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

He will guide you into all the Truth (the whole, full Truth). For He will not speak His own message [on His own authority]; but He will tell whatever He hears [from the Father; He will give the message that has been given to Him], and He will announce and declare to you the things that are to come [that will happen in the future].

Watch this: Remember, when Jesus asked his disciples who they thought he was, Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus answered him …For flesh and blood have not revealed this to you, but My Father Who is in heaven. The Holy Spirit will tell whatever He hears [from the Father; – He will guide us into the all the truth (the whole full truth), meaning he will give us revelation Knowledge.

…Upon this rock (revelation Knowledge) I will build My church(the believers); and the gates of Hades will not prevail or overpower it or all the powers of hell will not conquer it (Mathew 16:18).

Now in verses 14 and 15, he said He will honour and glorify Me, because He will take of (receive, draw upon) what is Mine and will reveal (declare, disclose, transmit) it to you.15 Everything that the Father has is Mine. That is what I meant when I said that He [the Spirit] will take the things that are Mine and will reveal (declare, disclose, transmit) it to you.

You see, Holy Spirit is a person; he has emotions and can be grieved or made to feel sorrowful. He has a will, meaning he can determine if he wants to show up in a place or not. However, he does not take glory or honour. He is here to honour Jesus.

You see, when the Holy Spirit Glorifies Jesus, the Father is glorified, because Jesus came to glorify the Father. We cannot glorify or thank the Holy Spirit. When we give glory or thanks to the Holy Spirit, we grieve or cause him sorrow or pain and he will stop his work or quenched.

Jesus said… You know him, meaning you recognise and welcome him. So begin to recognise and welcome him in your life, your business, in all your endeavours; and you will see more of him.
