Femi Segun, a popular broadcaster and former husband of Yeni Kuti, the late Fela Anikulapo-Kuti’s daughter, is dead.
He died on Friday in Lagos State, following serious injuries he sustained in a power bike accident.
Though details of his death were sketchy at the time of this report, the former son-in-law of Fela was until his death the National Publicity Secretary of Igbobi College Old Boys Association.
He was also a top politician and close friend of Senator Tokunbo Afikuyomi of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Femi usually described himself as a humanist who has occupied leadership positions in diplomacy, banking, manufacturing, interior decoration, public relations, broadcasting, writing, entertainment, public affairs commentary, church, NGO non profit work and politics.
He had served three former Heads of State as Portuguese/French interpreter and Senior Protocol Aide between 1983 and 1990.
“I aspire to be excellent in all that I put my hands to and have exploited my gifts in as many vocations as I have been challenged with”, the Officer of the Order of Rio Branco (Brazil) wrote on his website.
“I revel in the Arts and Antiques and have attended numerous training courses on banking as well as on interior decoration and design in the UK”.
