Acting Governor of Taraba State, Alhaji Garba Umar on Monday relieved 24 special advisers to the state government of their appointments.

In their place, he immediately appointed another 24.

Secretary to the State Government, Mr Garvey Yawe issued a statement in Jalingo to confirm the development.

According to the statement, Mr Abba Akawu is the new Special Adviser on Inter-Governmental Affairs, Mr Oliver Suleiman is the new Special Adviser on Labour Matters, while Alhaji Barshir Marafa is Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

Sen. Ibrahim Goje is Special Adviser on Political Affairs, Dr Yushau Ahmed Special Adviser on Border Community Development Agency, Mr Atem Ansho Special Adviser on Tourism, Alhaji Adamu Danjuma Special Adviser on SEMA, and David Irande Special Adviser on Primary Education.

Also appointed were Hajiya Maryam Zubairu as Special Adviser on Students and the Physically Challenged, Atiku Umar on Security, Mrs Ankye Abada on Women Affairs, Mr Emmanuel Nwunuke on Urban Infrastructure, Mr Buba Madugu on Commerce and Industries, Alhaji Muntari Garba on Science, Technical and Higher Education, and Mr Orbee Uchiv on Government and Project Monitoring.

All the sacked advisers were directed to hand over government property in their possession to appropriate government officials.
