Huhuonline.com understands that President Jonathan has appointed former Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Honourable Justice Idris Lebo Kutigi as the chairman of the National Conference.
He is to be assisted by Professor Bolaji Akinyemi and Dr. (Mrs.) Valerie Azinge, who will serve as Vice Chairman and Secretary respectively.
A statement issued on Monday by Anyim Pius Anyim, secretary to the government of the federation, said, “His Excellency, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GCFR), president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has approved the appointment of the Leadership of the National Conference as follows:
(i) Honourable Justice Idris Lebo Kutigi – Chairman
(ii) Prof. Bolaji Akinyemi – Vice Chairman
(iii) Dr. (Mrs.) Valerie Azinge – Secretary
“The appointees are to resume at Abuja on Wednesday, 5th March 2014, and would be received on arrival by the secretary to the government of the federation.”
