Senator Gbemisola Saraki on Saturday led other chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State to decamp to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Those who defected with their supporters also include Mr. Lola Ashiru and Prince Sunday Fagbemi, both APC chieftains, as well as Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, who was governorship candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in the 2011 elections.

Speaking in Ilorin, Saraki urged her supporters to cooperate with PDP in order to rescue the state from the shackle of oppression. She sympathised with hordes of jobless youths in the state, but assured them that PDP would reverse the trend if voted in next year.

“The situation is so bad that many people have abandoned the trades they spent several years to learn”, she lamented. “But if voted into power, PDP would return Kwara to the path of excellence in the management of human and natural resources”.

She also implored Kwara people to continue supporting the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan and the PDP.
