The Federal House of Representatives Thursday unveiled plans to commence the consideration of the 2014 Appropriation bill on 4th February 2014.
Zakariu Mohammed, chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Media and Public Affairs, gave the hint at the weekly press briefing held at the National Assembly complex.
Zakari said that consideration of the budget was put on hold so that the Constitution review process could be concluded.
He said that the next line of action would be to raise a Conference Committee of the House to begin work on the grey areas of the Constitution with its Senate Committee counterpart.
Mohammed revealed that it was expected that a clean copy of the Constitution would be produced after the two chambers have met, to sort out areas of agreement and disagreement.
The spokesman also said that the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) had been be committed to a technical session.
Mohammed added that in the technical session, everybody’s interest would be represented, in order to have a law that would meet the yearnings and aspirations of the people.
The lawmaker assured that PIB would be presented to Nigerians hopefully by April.
