Despite media reports that Bamanga Tukur has quit his position as National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), huhuonline.com can authoritatively confirm that he still occupies the position.
Olivier Okpara, the special adviser on media to Bamanga Tukur, affirmed that Tukur is still the national chairman of the PDP. He described the story of Alhaji Tukur’s resignation as the handiwork of his detractors.
“Mr. Tukur will be attending the Board of Trustees (BOT) meeting of the party on Wednesday night at 6pm and will also attend the National Executive Committee meeting of the party on Thursday at 12pm”, he said.
Tukur has been engaged in a long-running battle with some members of the National Working Committee (NWC), who have accused him of highhandedness.
