Ahead of the 16th November 2013 Anambra State governorship election, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has listed 10 numbers at its Abuja headquarters as hotlines.

According to a statement released on Wednesday by Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, Mr. Kayode Idowu, another 31 lines have been assigned to electoral officers and security personnel in the south-eastern state in order to make INEC officials and security personnel accessible to Nigerians during the election.

Idowu added that anyone with complaints and reports should lodge or file them from any polling unit throughout the state, so that the headquarters would quickly intervene.

“The numbers are 07098117563, 07098114865, 070816381 for voice calls, while the public can also send short messages services (SMS) through 08101774434 and 07032492303,” the statement read, adding that the number of the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Prof.C. E. Onukaogu is 08034001141, the Administrative Secretary, Mr Oscar-Lee Amaechi’s is  08037239886 while that of Public Affairs Officer, Mr Frank Egbo is 08037106701.

INEC further listed the telephone numbers of security personnel under the Inter-agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES) that would be involved in the governorship election.

These include Nigeria Police, Anambra State NYSC Coordinator, State Director National Orientation Agency, Deputy Director State Security Service and the Comptroller Immigration Service. Others are Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Comptroller Nigeria Prisons Service and NDLEA.

A total of 326 wards, 6,581 voting units and 1,784, 536 registered voters would be involved in the election, which would be contested for by 23 political parties.
