The national conference all Nigerians have been clamouring is for all the tribes and languages in Nigeria to come together and discuss what type of federalism is good for all of us.
Therefore Ahmed Bola Tinubu is totally wrong to kick against it. By the way Ahmed Bola Tinubu was a governor in Lagos for eight years could not even upgrade any hospital in Lagos to a standard where he could go for his knee surgery. He had to go to America. What a big shame on him.
For the avoidance of doubt, Mr Babangida Aliyu should know that the conference is not about Northern Nigeria or Southern Nigeria. It is about all the ethnic nationalities that make up Nigeria. Therefore all the tribes in Nigeria ranging from the big tribes like the Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo, Ijaw, Kanuri and Tiv to the small tribes like Bajju, Nkon, Bolewa, Ikwerre, Karekare, Bura, Alago and Amoa must be represented and present their views.
Medium level tribes like Idoma, Berom, Eggon, Tarok, Igala, Urhobo, Kamwe, Kilba, Marghi, Bachama, Ibibio, Efik, Zuru, Sayawa, Mumye, Junkun and even my tribe must also present their views and opinions about the type of federalism desirable for all of us.
As a matter of fact all the about 300 tribes and languages in Nigeria must be invited to present memorandum.
It is a time tested principle that it is always better to talk and discuss then bottle up grudges and emotions.
Even the representatives of Boko Haram should be free to present a memo on why they want their Islamic state. This is a golden opportunity for them to lay their arms and come for national dialogue.
Even the rebellious PDP governors will now have an opportunity to present their grudges again President’s second term for all Nigerians to know and why they hate Alhaji Bamangu Tukur with a passion.
As for people like Ahmed Bola Tinubu, it is better we talk now before the 2015 elections. Surely Mr Tinubu, the national conference is far more important than the election. With Boko Haram having estimated to have killed over 6,000 Nigerians since 2009 including the 40 Yoruba traders murdered in cold blood by Boko Haram in Monguno Borno State in April 2013. These were innocent traders who where on legal business trip to buy beans (ewa) but never returned to Ibadan again and forever courtesy Boko haram.
Therefore we appeal to the national conference committee to please put advert some national dailies regarding their venue and time of sitting nationwide so that we can bring our memorandum.
I personally object to the emirate system in Northern Nigeria. The various tribes should have their kings and chiefs as the case may.
There is no reason whatsoever for Kafanchan the headquarters of Bajjuland to have an emir. This is my opinion.
