The State Security Service (SSS) on Tuesday transferred Daniel Ohikhena, the 13-year-old boy who hid in the tyre compartment of an Arik airplane to fly to Lagos from Benin, to officials of the Edo State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.
Daniel’s mother, Evelyn was at the office of the SSS to witness the transfer and hear the processes her son would have to undergo before his eventual return to his family.
The SSS explained to Daniel’s mother the rational for his detention and then directed her to officials of the ministry for additional briefing.
The plan of the Edo State government is to send the boy to a correctional facility; and Head of Social Welfare Department, Imuetiyan Avielele has already confirmed that Daniel would still have to undergo further questioning.
