President Goodluck Jonathan has sent a condolence message to former Minister of Information, John Nwodo over the death of his wife, Regina Nwodo, who reportedly died in London.
The late Regina was a Justice of the Court of Appeal.
In a statement by Jonathan’s Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Rueben Abati, the president said on behalf of himself, his family, the Federal Government and people of Nigeria, that he commiserated with Chief Nwodo on the loss of his wife.
“By her demise, your family has lost a dutiful wife and a devoted mother; Enugu State has lost one of her finest; our nation has lost an accomplished jurist and a veritable epitome of excellence in service,” said Jonathan.
“As you mourn, I wish, on behalf of my family, the Government and people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, to express our heartfelt commiseration with you at this time.
“May Almighty God grant her soul eternal rest, even as He succours you and imbues you with the strength to cope with the pain of this irredeemable loss.”
