Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi has described Enugu Rangers forward Alhaji Gero as a quality player deserving of his maiden invitation to the senior national team to engage Cote d’Ivoire in the second leg of the CHAN qualifier.
“I saw a lot of qualities in him; that was why I invited him,” Keshi said. “I expect him to bring in competition to those who are already in the team.”
Gero featured at the recently held FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Turkey, where the Flying Eagles gallantly lost out to Uruguay in the quarter-final, after suffering a first-half red card to a defender.
