Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha has dissolved his cabinet and sacked all his Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants in a major action that caught his appointees unawares.
As Governor of the State, Okorocha had appointed a whole lot of aides that resulted in a lot of criticisms from Nigerians.
But in a statement on Wednesday in Owerri, Secretary to the State Government, Professor Anthony Anwuka explained that the sack was with immediate effect.
The statement directed all the commissioners to hand over to Permanent Secretaries of their respective ministries while the special advisers are to hand over to his office.
For other appointees, the statement directed them to hand over to Chief of Staff, Eze Madumere. It also mandated them that all handover formalities must be completed on or before Friday.
The statement also invited all Permanent Secretaries in the state to a meeting with the governor on Thursday at the Government House, Owerri, the state capital.
