Mrs. Folashade Onademunren, wife of Hon. Samson Onademunren, a member of the Ogun State House of Assembly representing Ijebu North East, has been abducted by a gang of kidnappers.
Mrs. Onademuren was kidnapped at exactly 1.30 pm while she was at a construction site on Lewu Street, Obalende area of Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, and whisked away in a white Opel Astra car.
Public Relations Officer of the Ogun Police Command, Muyiwa Adejobi confirmed the incident in Abeokuta, saying the Command had begun making efforts to rescue the victim.
“The Commissioner of Police, Ikemefuna Okoye, was at the scene to strategise on the best way to rescue the lawmaker’s wife and we are going to do all that is possible to track down the perpetrators and secure her rescue,” he said.
He implored the public to assist in supplying the Police with useful information that could lead to her rescue as soon as possible and also assured residents of the state that the Police would do everything possible to secure lives and properties within the state.
As at the time of filing this report, the family of the victim had not been contacted by the abductors, a situation that has been a source of worries in the state government.
