President of the Nigerian Senate, David Mark has commiserated with President Goodluck Jonathan over the passing away of his younger brother, Meni, which occurred on Tuesday morning — the same day the president turned 55.
In a Tuesday-evening release issued by his media aide, Kola Ologbondiyan, Mark condoled with “President Goodluck Jonathan and his family” over Mena’s death, urging the family to find solace in late Meni’s “exemplary life,” which exuded discipline, decency and forthrightness worthy of emulation.
“I pray [that] God in his infinite mercies grants you the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” a part of the statement read. “May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.”
Meni Innocent Jonathan’s death at the National Hospital Abuja today not only coincided with the president’s birthday but also with his trip to Turkey to attend a session of the D-8.
