Mr. Ayola Oyesiji, a 62 year old retired University don is currently undergoing interrogation at the Agugu Division of the Oyo State Police Command, over his role in the drowning of a two year old child. Our checks reveal that the former University don drowned his two year old step daughter in bucket of water, after his wife refused to consent to his demand for sex.

The incident, according to sources, occurred Friday, 16 Novemeber at Atipe area of Ibadan following a scuffle between the man and his 22-year-old wife, Barakat Akeem, over sex.

“The woman is nursing a two-month-old baby for the retired lecturer while the the deceased child was given birth to, before she married him in December 2011. She presently lives in Pa Oyesiji’s family house at Atipe area where the man visits to carry out his conjugal duties.”

It was however learnt that on the fateful Friday, Oyesiji had insisted on having sexual intercourse with his wife despite still being a nursing mother and menstruating but his insistence made his wife flee from the house, raising an alarm which attracted neighbours.

Another source revealed that Barakat had fled the house, leaving behind her two-year-old daughter, Aishat Mohammed, who was said to be sound asleep in the room when the sex-fight started while her two-month-old baby was being tended by a neighbour.

“After pleading with neighbours to help rescue her daughter, they promptly forced the door of the room open and were shocked to discover the body of Aishat in a half-filled bucket of water in the unlit room.

“This development infuriated the neighbourhood, who descended on the retired lecturer with different objects, beating him to coma before the police rescue team arrived the scene.”

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of administration, Mr. Clement Adoda, confirmed that the remains of the girl had been deposited in a morgue for autopsy, adding that the case would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Iyaganku for further investigations.

However, Pa Oyesiji has said he only wanted to prevent the girl from running about, by putting her in a bucket, unknown to him that the bucket contained water. death.

Prior,Oyesiji was taken to a private hospital for treatment for injuries sustained during the mob action.

He holds an MBBS degree and had lectured at the University of Ibadan before transferring his services to the University of Ilorin in 1996 until his retirement.
